Go Green with A & J Fencing!
A & J Fencing Recycles 100% of Your Old Fence
A&J Fencing completes several wood fencing projects weekly. In each project, new materials are brought to the job site and your old fence is hauled away. To protect our planet we recycle your old fencing rather than dumping it into the landfill.
Recycled wood fencing is then transformed into compost for soil improvement, mulch for weed control, sawdust for animal bedding, wood flour for cleaning up spills, wood chips for landscaping or trail stabilization and fuel pellets or pressed wood fireplace logs for wood stoves.
We Only Use Environmentally Friendly Pressure Treated Wood
A&J Fencing uses Premium Pressure Treated materials on ground contact products (Posts, Kickboards and Retaining Walls.) In the past, pressure treated products were treated with Arsenic chemicals. Current pressure treated materials use much safer, environmentally friendly, water based additives.
A&J Fencing only uses NatureWood brown stained (ACQ) which contains No previously used unsafe Copper Arsenate.
Our pressure treated products are safe to use around plants, vegetables and animals.
We Reuse Most of our Wood Drop to Make Other Products
During the course of any wood construction, you are left with wood drop when lumber is cut to specific lengths. This causes excess scrap wood that most companies dump into the landfill.
A&J Fencing recycles our scrap wood to make additional products. The products include but are not limited to custom lattice, wood stakes and pickets. All of these products are custom fabricated in our state of the art wood mill. This allows us to create products of greater quality and keep unused new material out of landfills.
A & J Fencing Uses Exclusively Environmentally Friendly Suppliers.
Redwood is a terrific choice for fences if you are concerned about the environment. According to the California Redwood Association, redwood is not only durable but a renewable resource that is harvested responsibly in managed forests. More volume of redwood is grown than harvested annually. A&J Fencing only does business with suppliers who maintain managed forests and harvest their wood in a responsible and sustainable manner.
